We’re headed into what’s bound to be a particularly stressful week of political news in the United States, so here on the podcast we decided it was a good time to check in with What the Constitution Means to Me, a (mostly one-woman) play by Heidi Schreck that was filmed and is available streaming on Amazon Prime. Before that, though, there’s plenty of TV to discuss. It’s been another long week, but admittedly a thin one for TV viewing. We kick off the podcast with Our Week in TV, starting with Kate’s thoughts on The CW premiere of Swamp Thing. Then Noel and Kate dive in with DuckTales’ Halloween episode, Kate catches up with Archer and The Vow, and we round out the week with another deep dive into the latest The Great British Bake Off. Afterward, we head back to the DVD Shelf to talk Tanner ’88, a documentary following the 1988 Presidential campaign of the fictional Jack Tapper. Newly streaming on HBO Max, the series is an interesting experiment in quasi-real time political storytelling and a clear predecessor to The West Wing, and if either aspect sounds intriguing, it’s very much worth your time. Tune in for our reactions, then reach out with your take on the week’s TV, Tanner ’88, and any other recent TV finds.
